菌边村位于永和镇西北部，临近社马公路，离镇政府约4公里[1]。村子古名云滨，因「菌」与「群」在闽南话里读音相同，才有了今天的村名[2]。

地理与人口[edit]

村子东靠力争村的新菌边自然村，南面与力争村垵内自然村相接，西边与安海镇大山后村相邻，北面毗邻英墩村[1]。全村只有一个自然村，设15个村民小组[1]。

2021年村情汇总表记载，截至2019年9月，全村有909户，人口总数3508人。女性1660人，男性1848人；常住人口3508人，60岁及以上515人。外出流动人口300人，主要在泉州其他地市，从事二手汽车交易、服装辅料纺织等行业[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村子元时属晋江县十二都，别称群滨[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

村中有祖师公宫殿、金王爷殿、显庆殿等庙宇，还有两座祠堂[2]。
