石龟村位于晋江市西部、龙湖镇区南部，距晋江市区约18公里，距镇区约3公里，省道306线从村中横穿而过。[1][3]

村名来自村中的一块风水石，形状似龟，故称石龟；此前此地是许氏聚居的许厝。[2][3]

地名由来[edit]

相传唐代许氏率兵入闽，定居于此，习称许厝；村中又有一块形似龟的巨石，遂以石龟命名。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属安仁乡弦歌里，明清属十七、十八都，1944年属霞坡乡石龟保。[2]

1956年设石龟乡，1961年归龙湖公社石龟大队，1984年设龙湖乡石龟村委会，1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]

人口民族[edit]

龙湖镇政府2021年公布的行政村信息载，村里常住3792人，党员100名，外来人口860人。[1]

经济[edit]

村企业主要以五金制品、商标织唛和服装加工为主。[1]

村里耕地约1313亩，农作物有甘薯、水稻、花生和蔬菜，还种有甘蔗。[3]

名人[edit]

菲律宾华侨职工运动领袖许立（1905—1971）是石龟村人，1925年移居菲律宾，参与组织菲律宾华侨总工会，1946年回国，后任中共中央联络部副部长，1971年8月在北京逝世。[4]

许立故居位于村中长声路32号，是一座有上百年历史的闽南古民居，占地约415平方米，现在房屋门面保存较好，里面基本损毁，无人居住。[4]

村中有宝月殿玄天上帝公宫和许氏家厅。[3]
