瑶厝村位于龙湖镇西南部，东邻英林镇，南邻东石镇，西邻永和镇，是连接三镇的交通要道，下辖瑶厝一个自然村。[1][3]

村名由盛产石材得来：“瑶”指美玉，村中出产的花岗岩质地洁白如玉，故雅称瑶厝。[2]

地名由来[edit]

早先此地为姚姓卜居，因“姚”“瑶”同音，又因盛产花岗岩石材，改称瑶厝。[2]

另有一说，先民曾在此烧制贝壳灰，窑群之地俗称窑厝，后取“窑”“瑶”同音而雅化为瑶厝。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时属泉州府南门外十四都。[2]

1956年划入龙湖乡，1961年设龙湖公社瑶厝大队，1984年设龙湖乡瑶厝村委会，1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]

人口民族[edit]

龙湖镇政府2021年公布的行政村信息载，村里常住1990人，外来人口92人，党员51名。[1]

村民以蔡氏为多，另有一户苏姓。[3]

经济[edit]

村庄原以石材开采与加工为支柱产业，石材开采全面退出后，现以石材生产、拉链五金和小微企业为主。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中的钟胜庙主祀康王元帅，始建于明末崇祯年间（1640年），庙宇几经修葺，是联系海外乡情的重要基地。[3]
