鲁东村位于晋江市南部，靠近泉州沿海通道，依山靠海，距晋江市区约15公里，全村共6个村民小组。[1][2]

村名旧作路塘，后因一位私塾先生的门生多人及第而改称鲁东。[2]

地名由来[edit]

旧称路塘，因村南北贯通的一条古道与路边的一口池塘而得名。[2]

相传明末有私塾先生陈鹄在此执教，门下十七人考取功名，又有一人随侍做饭，共十八人；后经皇帝知晓，有人以“孔子居鲁西，陈先生居鲁东”为喻，村名遂改为鲁东。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属安仁乡弦歌里，明清属十七、十八都，1944年属霞坡乡鲁江保。[2]

1956年划入石龟乡，1959年归龙湖公社，1985年另设鲁东村委会，1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]

人口民族[edit]

村中有施、尤、黄、萧等姓，以施姓最多。[2]

龙湖镇政府2021年公布的行政村信息载，村里常住1032人，外来人口24人。[1]

经济[edit]

村里以农业为主，蔬菜种植尤为突出，耕地七百余亩；村中没有规模企业，村民多外出务工。[1]

荣誉[edit]

鲁东村先后获得晋江市休闲农业示范村（2014年）、晋江市美丽乡村（2015年）等称号，2016年被评为福建省千村整治、百村示范美丽乡村示范村。[1]

2018年被评为福建省一事一议乡村振兴示范村，2019年村党组织获泉州市先进基层党组织称号。[1]

2021年11月，村庄被福建省爱卫办命名为2021年福建省卫生村；2024年2月，鲁东村被列为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。[2]
