福林村位于龙湖镇西部，下辖檀林、粘厝埔两个自然村，其中粘厝埔为晋江市唯一的满族村。[1][2]

村名最早称陈林，后因檀树成片改称檀林；今名福林，取自村中的福林寺，该寺位于檀林自然村东南。[2]

地名由来[edit]

最早在山林间开基的是陈氏，故称陈林；因檀树成片，又称檀林。[2]

弘一法师曾在村中福林寺隐居，今村名福林便取自寺名。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

元明时属晋江县十七、十八都，民国时属至善乡福林保。[2]

1956年划入福林乡；1959年，檀林设龙湖公社檀林大队，其后改称福林大队；1984年设福林村委会，1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]

人口民族[edit]

龙湖镇政府2021年公布的行政村信息载，村里常住2558人，外来人口820人，党员52名。[1]

村中以许姓为多，陈氏次之；粘厝埔则全村都姓粘，为满族，是晋江市唯一的满族村。[1][2]

经济[edit]

村里以纺织化纤为主，规模以上企业有海涛无纺纤维、展望电子、鑫龙腾祥服装、华鑫织造和华鑫塑料橡胶制品等。[1]

村中的福林古村落有保护的优秀风貌建筑8处，列入市文保单位的有3处。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2015年10月，福林村入选首批福建省省级传统村落；2016年5月，福建省人民政府把福林村列为福建省历史文化名镇名村（第五批）。[2]

2016年12月，福林村列入第四批中国传统村落名录；2019年1月，入选第七批中国历史文化名村。[2]

2022年10月，福林村上榜阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单；2024年6月，入选福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

福林寺位于檀林村东南，为泉州市文物保护单位。寺前有“弘一亭”，1941年弘一法师曾在寺中寄锡三个月。[3]

寺旁的孝端桥建于1933年，由爱国乡侨许经撇独资兴建，后人多次重修，俗称三代桥。[3]

福林许经撇宅建于1933年，为旅菲华侨许经撇的住宅；2013年2月，该宅列入晋江市第五批市级文保名录。[4]
