地名由来[edit]
古时此地是赤土荒坡，土地贫瘠、人烟稀少。因东、西、南三面均近海湾，且贝壳原料充足，运输也方便，人们便在这里开窑烧制石灰。[2]
石灰窑场逐渐成为晋南一带的烧灰、交易场所，村落随之形成，遂称烧灰。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代属安仁乡劝善里，明清属十四都。[2]
1956年划入龙湖乡，1959年设龙湖公社烧灰大队，1984年设龙湖乡烧灰村委会，1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]
人口民族[edit]
龙湖镇政府2021年公布的行政村信息载，村里常住3762人，外来人口约2684人。党员数为86名。[1]
经济[edit]
村内以纺织化纤、拉链五金配件和服饰生产为主，有利瑶集团、万兴隆集团、伟泰化纤等规模以上企业。[1]
荣誉[edit]
烧灰村为晋江市老区基点村。[1]
2006年底，晋江市新村办把烧灰列为新农村建设示范村；2007年11月，省市两级又定其为农村社区建设试点。[3]
