湖北村因位于龙湖之北而得名，全村共5个自然村，分别称西浔、十三施、庄厝、翁厝和枪城。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属安仁乡弦歌里，元明清属十七、十八都，1944年属英林镇英西保。[2]

1956年划入湖北乡，1961年归龙湖公社，设湖北大队；1984年设村委会，隶属龙湖乡，1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]

人口民族[edit]

村里常住3589人，外来人口3169人；党员数为75名。[1]

村中现有施、庄、翁、章四姓，以施姓为最多，其后裔分衍香港、澳门、台湾和菲律宾等地。[3]

经济[edit]

村中以纺织化纤、服装、拉链织造和机械制造为主，辖区内有多家规模以上工业企业。[1]

2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，湖北村三次列入阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单。[2]
