杆柄村位于龙湖镇东部沿海，村庄坐落在东溪下游入深沪湾口的高处山坡上，全村有8个村民小组。[1][2]

村名经历了几次变化：早先称“刮边”，因方言读音走样成“杆柄”；又因与“肝病”同音，雅称“观屏”，但仍习惯沿用“杆柄”。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

元明时属晋江县十七、十八都，施氏是最早在此开基的一族。[2]

1944年属霞坡乡四维保；1959年归龙湖公社，1961年另设杆柄大队；1984年后村委会隶属龙湖乡。[2]

人口民族[edit]

施姓占村中多数，另有少数佘姓居民；施姓后裔分衍香港、澳门、台湾和菲律宾等地。[2]

经济[edit]

村民以农业为主，零星分布着一些企业。[2]

村里耕地约800亩，主要种植花生、地瓜和蔬菜，滩涂上养殖海蛎和花蛤。[1]
