新街村位于308省道沿线石狮以北、龙湖以南的中间地带，下辖新街坑尾、上下炉灶两个自然村。[1][3]

村名来源于村内原有一段坑尾，后改称新街。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时属十七、十八都，1944年属霞坡乡新街保。[2]

1956年划入彭田乡；1961年设龙湖公社新街大队；1984年村委会隶属龙湖乡，1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村庄地处308省道沿线，村中有通往外村的水泥路。[3]

经济[edit]

村里早年以石矿开采为业，开采业全面退出后，仅存3家相关企业。[1]

当前产业以纺织化纤、拉链为主，企业大多属小微型。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

省道308线旁的许燮陵园是宋代墓葬，列为市级文物保护单位。[2]

村中的宫庙有奇峰宫、观音宫和镇清宫，另有田都元帅庙与都公宫；村里还有石牛山。[3]
