梧坑村位于龙湖镇北部，与石狮市钞坑相邻，省道308线穿村而过，博雅地名网称它是龙湖镇的“北大门”。[1][2]
村名的来历有几种说法：一说村址原为梧树丛生的坑坳，一说因吴氏最早在此建居而称吴坑，后写作梧坑。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
元明时属晋江县三十五都，民国时期属霞坡乡秀治保。[2]
1961年设龙湖公社吾坑大队；1984年村委会称吾坑，隶属龙湖乡；1991年改隶龙湖镇。[2]
人口民族[edit]
村民多为许氏，吴氏已经较少。村中华侨众多，分布在菲律宾、印尼、美国、新加坡、香港、澳门和台湾，以菲律宾居多，在外华侨2000多人。[1][2]
经济[edit]
村里以纺织、服装、拉链为主，逐步发展出一片小型工业区，行业涵盖纺织、服装、五金、塑料、机械、铸造和汽修。[2]
博雅地名网称，村里拥有本土企业四十余家，职工约六千人。[2]
梧坑村2014年和2015年连续两年被评为中国“淘宝村”，2020年、2021年和2022年也都上榜阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单。[1][2]
