加塘村位于内坑镇政府驻地东南约2.5公里，地处灵源山西北侧，南与安海镇西门相接。村名由唐代的柑塘雅化、谐音演变而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
相传唐开元年间，林銮招引海外商人来此贸易，令宗亲在此种植柑桔，并挖掘池塘用以浇灌。柑桔成熟时，人们便在池塘边交易，地名因此称为柑塘；后雅化为甘棠，又因方言谐音改称嘉塘，简化为加塘。[1]
民国时属安海镇前塘保。建国后，1956年隶属黎山乡，1959年归安海公社黎山大队；1961年起由内坑公社统辖，归莲山大队。1981年自莲山大队析出，成立加塘大队。1984年起由乡统辖，1992年起由镇统辖。[1]
文化[edit]
2022年12月，本村获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名。[1]
