霞美畲族村在镇域东北隅，与磁灶镇相接，东南面紧挨柑市村，西南则与上方村为界。村名出自旧时古榕、苍松成荫，晨光映照时一片彩霞般景致的说法。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
霞美钟氏先祖建业公曾被授予泉郡驷行驿馆主簿之职。明初建文元年（1399年），钟氏由泉州古陵迁居霞美，此后繁衍成村。[1][2]
名胜古迹[edit]
霞美钟氏家庙始建于明代，现存建筑为清道光年间重修，保留了明代的构件，庙内仍有清道光年间的「钟氏家庙」「源发海澄」匾额。该庙是研究晋江畲族钟氏迁徙的重要史迹，2019年，该庙列入晋江市第六批市级文保名录。[3]

霞美畲族村于2022年12月获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名。[1]
