山头村在内坑镇西南约1.9公里处，南北两侧分别是槟榔山与苦竹山，西邻南安的内厝村。村名来自村前的槟榔山和村后的苦竹山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时山头一带属六都，民国三十三年归新民乡山庄保管辖。新中国成立后，1956年并入内坑，此后数年曾隶属安海公社仁寿大队；1961年改属内坑公社洪山乡的山头大队。1984年起由乡统辖，1992年起由镇统辖。[1][2]

经济[edit]

农作物有水稻、甘薯、花生和糖蔗；工业以纸箱、服装为主。[2]
