东山村位于晋江市北部，与池店镇相邻，距泉州市区约3公里。[2]村内有东山、西村两个自然村，以东山自然村为主村，村民分为8个小组。[2]村名来自村东的一座小山，西侧则有狮山与之相对。[1]

地理与沿革[edit]

村地原是晋江出海口一带的淤积平原，经先人屯垦而成。[1]市道317线与国道324复线在村内纵横交错，金鸣水渠穿过农田。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

东山船王公石刻列入「第四次全国文物普查新发现未定级不可移动文物第一批名录」，为明代石窟寺及石刻，位于本村东区。[3]

荣誉[edit]

东山村于2024年1月被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
