洋茂村是池店镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域东部，距镇政府驻地约2.9公里，东北部与陈埭镇高坑相接。[2]村内有洋茂、村头两个自然村，以洋茂自然村为主村。[2]

地名由来[edit]

此地旧属泉州，海船可以抵达，古时泉州海外交通发达，不少外国商人来泉州经商，其中有人定居晋南一带，死后葬于此处，当地人称之为洋墓。[1]后来村落逐渐形成，村民避讳“墓”字，以闽南语中的田地、庄稼之义改用“洋茂”，取“茂盛”之“茂”，雅化为村名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，洋茂村属三十都；民国33年（1944年）属青阳乡金登保。[1]1956年并入池店乡。1959年，它曾归苏厝公社赤塘大队管辖。1961年，改设池店公社洋茂大队。1984年，改设洋茂村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

洋茂村于2024年1月被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」，2021年6月被命名为「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」。[1]该村在2020年和2022年两次入选淘宝村名单。[1]
