经济[edit]

村中企业集中于新市开发区、新市工业区与前垵开发区三处，主要从事服装制造、织带、涂层复合、化纤布、塑料包装袋和纸盒纸牌制造等[2]。

文化[edit]

村中有光华小学，1949年开办[2]。新市幼儿园开办于1998年，前垵幼儿园也设于村内[2]。村中的晋江职业中专学校校址始建于1954年，占地约200亩[2]。
