湖厝村位于围头半岛南端，距金井镇政府驻地约5公里，村域内有湖厝、西头、岑下三个自然村[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

村名来自村子西南的一处风水池塘。20世纪70年代，旅居菲律宾的华侨捐资加挖两个池塘，形成内、中、外三池[1]。

明清时期归十四都管辖，民国33年（1944年）编入金井镇西资保。1956年隶属金井区围头乡，1961年划为金井公社的湖厝大队，1984年起称金井镇湖厝村委会[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

村中有许真人故居，以及许氏泮公陵园，陵园内安葬许氏瑶林开基二世祖墓。博雅地名网称这两处古迹属市文物保护[1]。
