历史沿革[edit]
据传，先民最初居于水库前的高地，地名叫虎空口、乞丐间，后因蝗灾迁到现在的位置，遂称洋下[1]。
明清时属泉州府南门外十五都，民国33年（1944年）属金井乡洋江保。1956年属金井爱群乡，1961年归入金井公社的大队，1984年改为金井镇洋下村委会[1]。
地理环境[edit]
村域面积3.3平方千米，由8个村民小组组成[1]。
经济[edit]
村中种植甘薯、花生和龙眼等作物，并有木麻黄防风林带三公里，从事海洋捕捞和海产养殖[1]。
文化[edit]
村内设有一所小学，附设幼儿园，名为榕霞小学[1]。
