金井社区是金井镇的一个社区，位于镇中心，交通便利，围头至泉州的公路经过此地[1]。社区内有东宫妈祖庙等古迹，七匹狼集团也在区内设有企业[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明清时此处属十四都，民国时期归金市保管辖。建国后，1956年划入金井区，1959年成为金井公社下的金井大队，1961年改设金井居委会；1984年以金井镇名义设金井居委会，2006年才更名为金井社区居委会[1][2]。

地名的来历有一个传说：宋末幼帝南逃，船只在围头湾遇风，停靠在井尾村，随从在村畔挖井得到甘泉，皇帝饮后封此井为「金井」，村落因此得名金井[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

东宫妈祖庙相传始建于北宋，历代屡经兴废，现存建筑为改革开放后重建[2]。社区内另有陈厝顺济宫、东宫古地等古建筑，博雅地名网记为市级文物保护单位[1]。
