科任村在深沪湾最南端，东面濒临台湾海峡，西侧为围头湾，距晋江市区39千米，距深沪镇区5千米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名早先叫乌浔，因村东南海湾中有一块礁石名为乌仔屿。后来乡里人才辈出，数人登科，村名遂改为科任。[1]

1952年改称「相镖」，以纪念陈相镖烈士，1978年恢复科任原名。[1]

地理环境[edit]

海岸线曲折绵延6500多米，区域面积3平方千米。[1]

2020年12月，村入选2020年泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」。2021年6月，村被命名为「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」。2025年5月，村入选2025年泉州市乡村「五个美丽」整村打造培育名单。[1]
