张厝村是东石镇下辖的行政村，位于镇政府驻地东南约6公里，东与石菌为邻，北至梅峰村，南面临海。[1]
地名由来[edit]
北宋大中祥符二年（1009年），有张氏驾船南来卜居于此，称张厝。元末明初有王氏在此筑舍而居，称中舍，后仍沿用张厝之名。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
陆地面积1080亩，常住人口2866人（户籍人口2429人），设5个村民小组，村内只有1个自然村。[1]
村民靠海为生，养殖紫菜、海蛎、石蛎、挂蛎、花蛤等。[1]
文物[edit]
境内有日晖庵，又名草柄宫，相传始建于唐懿宗咸通五年（864年）。[1]
沿革[edit]
宋时隶属安仁乡仁和里，元明清归十一都；1944年归东石镇，1984年改设张厝村委会。[2]
