许西坑村是东石镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区北部，距镇政府所在地5公里，村内有南天禅寺。[1][2]

村内人口较多的姓氏为许、张、郑。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村落临浒水（南北向溪流）而名浒水；村址在盆地，称西坑；合称浒水西坑，简称浒里。后因许姓繁衍，村中唯许氏独大，方言谐音，改称许西坑。[3]

共20个村民小组，1317户、5037人。所辖自然村有许西坑、郭厝、松柏山、深垵四个，主村在许西坑。[1]

产业以雨伞、服装、废钢回收与锻压为主，另有农场，作物多为胡萝卜。[1]

南天禅寺[edit]

南天禅寺在石佛山（岱峰山）南麓，又称石佛寺，寺内大殿依崖刻有三尊石佛，系南宋嘉定九年（1216年）僧人募刻，寺旁山崖另有摩崖石刻。2015年3月，列入第七批全国重点文物保护单位。[2][4]
