檗谷村是东石镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区东部，228国道与东金公路从村的南北两侧穿境而过。[1]

村中有古檗山庄，为省级文物保护单位。[2]

地名由来[edit]

该地黄姓世居，因山谷中多生檗树而写作檗谷。另一说古称唐家崖，黄姓迁入后取檗阴谷幽之意改称檗谷。[3][4]

沿革[edit]

宋代已有黄姓人家迁居于此，开基始祖名黄龙，村民以黄姓为主。明清录属十都。[3]

文物[edit]

古檗山庄是华侨黄秀烺在清末民国初年营建的园林式家族陵园，占地约1.7万平方米，2001年列为省级文物保护单位。[2][5]

村内另有黄氏家庙。[1]

产业与非遗[edit]

村中以胡萝卜等特色种养殖为主，为福建省「一村一品」示范村（胡萝卜）。[1]

晋江传统纸扎技艺（晋江级，第七批）以檗谷村村民委员会为保护单位。[6]
