东埕村是东石镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区中心，土地面积83.5公顷，地势中间高、东西低。[1]
地名由来[edit]
相传唐时有邱氏航海南来卜居，此地称邱家涯。其后蔡姓人家迁居东边平坦之地，村遂取名东埕。[2]
沿革[edit]
宋为安仁乡仁和里管辖，明、清属十都，1944年属东石镇玉亭保。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
全村常住人口2325人，外来务工人员1500多人，旅居海外侨胞一万多人。辖区内有企业30多家，以纺织印染、橡胶、机械配件等为主。[1]
文物[edit]
竺世庵为市级文物保护单位，建于宋代。[2]
