地名与沿革[edit]
1979年，村所在的生产大队由原公社大队析出自成一队，以所辖自然村永坑、后湖各取一字，定名永湖。[2]
宋为安仁乡仁和里管辖，明、清属十都，1944年属东石镇龙坑保。[2]
人口与耕地[edit]
全村共602户；常住人口2363人，此外另有1500多名外来流动人口。设9个村民小组，耕地834亩。[1]
文物与荣誉[edit]
后湖石塔位于后湖自然村，年代为明，为市级文物保护单位。[2]
2018年，永湖村被列为「美丽乡村」示范村加以管理；永坑自然村是革命老区村。[1]
