1986年东石镇镇区划分五个居委会，第五居委会原属东石大队第五基点，由此命名为第五社区居委会。[2]

社区总人口1350人，共两个居民小组，全社区335户，党员58人。[1]

历史[edit]

明清两代归十都；清末民初又归泉州南关外的仙迹境（仁和里）。[3]
