第四社区位于东石镇区东部，东面与郭岑村、檗谷村相邻，西面连接第三社区，区域面积1.2平方千米。[1]

社区沿街店面较多，是镇区的商贸与文化中心之一。[2]

沿革[edit]

社区与第三、第五社区旧时同称沙窟。另一说以原井头（蔡姓一族）为基础，雅称玉井；沙窟之东的一口长年不涸的井称井透，俗称井头。[3]

1986年10月成立居委会，原系东石大队第四支点。[2]

玉记商行建筑群为省级文物保护单位，位于本社区。[4]

社区另有三公宫（市级文物保护单位）、海头宫、十郎公园等民间建筑。[3]
