第一社区是东石镇下辖的社区，位于镇区西南部，东靠第二社区，西连东石港，南界晋江盐场，北隔永湖村。[1]

社区旧称「西尾」，因先民先后入居东石寨西部而得名。[2]

沿革[edit]

1944年属东石镇；1956年归东石区管辖；1961年人民公社化时并组为东石大队。1986年政社分开、社区整合后，以原东石大队第一基点设居委会，称第一居委会，1987年改制为社区居委会。[2]

社区内有天后宫、海滨公园和夜光漫道，另有大觉寺，系1993年由旅菲高僧瑞今法师兴建，位于东石古寨的西北。[1][3]
