海尾村是陈埭镇的行政村，位于晋东平原东北角，与泉州市丰泽区东海片区隔江相对，与仙石村同为晋江东北边沿的村落。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

此村靠近晋江入海的尽头，因而叫海尾。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地明清两代隶属晋江县南门外的二十九都，1944年归青阳乡仙石保。新中国成立初列入晋江县第五区，1956年划入池店区洋埭乡，之后并入苏厝公社，1961年改属陈埭公社海美大队，1984年设陈埭镇海尾村民委员会。[2]

面积与人口[edit]

截至2008年，村域面积1.3平方公里，户数504，常住人口2164人。村中姓氏较多，以林姓为大姓。[2]

社会与产业[edit]

制鞋是村里的主业，同时有鞋底、电脑绣花、印刷包装等行业。村内有海美小学，并建有村级卫生所与老年人活动中心。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年至2022年间，海尾村三次列入淘宝村名单。2021年6月，村庄被命名为「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」。[1]
