历史沿革[edit]
陈埭原为海滩。五代末，统辖闽南一带的平海军节度使陈洪进组织军民沿江围滩筑埭，后人纪念其功绩，遂以“陈埭”为名。因境内溪流众多，溪也称江，地又称陈江。[1][4]
宋代以后，陈、倪、周、谢等姓陆续在此聚居，地属永宁乡永福里，元明清时属二十七都。民国时期（1942年）曾设三联乡。[3]
1950年至1957年间，陈埭先后归属五区、涵坂区、七区和池店区。1961年6月，苏厝人民公社撤销，改设陈埭人民公社，机构驻四境。1984年10月，公社改制为镇，陈埭镇的行政建置由此确立。[1][3]
2016年2月，陈埭设立江浦社区。[1]
地理环境[edit]
镇域地势平坦，大部分属晋东平原，沟渠与水域纵横交错，海岸线长13.6千米。气候属亚热带季风气候。[2][3]
镇域面积的数字有出入：百度百科记为38.4平方千米，博雅地名网记为35.6平方千米。[2][3]
经济[edit]
制鞋业是镇内的龙头产业，此外还有五金机械、日用塑料、印刷包装等行业。维基百科称，制鞋业的发展使陈埭被称为「中国鞋都」。[2][4]
镇内企业起步较早，制鞋企业在国内多地设有专卖店和专柜，部分企业还在境外设立了办事机构。[2]
人口民族[edit]
镇内回族人口较多，本地居民多为丁姓，其远祖出自阿拉伯，明初迁居陈埭，此后与当地汉族共同围海造田、兴修水利，逐渐繁衍。[4][6][7]
镇内有江头、溪边、岸兜、鹏头、西坂、花厅口等回族村，四境社区也是回族聚居的社区之一。[7][12][13]
名胜古迹[edit]
陈埭丁氏宗祠位于岸兜村，始建于明代初年（维基百科作明永乐年间），明嘉靖年间毁于兵燹，万历年间重建，建筑兼有汉族传统风格与伊斯兰文化特征。2006年，它被列为第六批全国重点文物保护单位。[5][6]
丁拱辰故居位于岸兜村观音巷，为市级文物保护单位。洋埭林氏宗祠位于洋埭村，始建于明正德十二年（1517年），嘉靖四年（1525年）竣工，2007年被列入晋江市第四批市级文物保护单位。[1][8]
此外，结砖福利桥（苏厝村）为年代属元的市级文物保护单位，陈埭石经幢（四境社区）为年代属宋的市级文物保护单位。涵口古建筑群位于涵口村，由六座大厝组成，百度百科称其现为泉州市文物保护单位，博雅地名网则作晋江市文物保护单位。[1][9]
著名人物[edit]
丁拱辰（1800年—1875年），字淑原，号星南，清代回族人，出生于岸兜，机械工程专家，曾考察西方火器，制造蒸汽机、机车和轮船模型，著有《演炮图说》。[10][11]
