历史沿革[edit]
前尾古称良美，据说先民从金井皇冠山迁居此地，觉得这里环境优美，于是取名良美。后来人们谐音叫成前尾，村名便随之改动[2]。
明清时这里属三都。民国时期隶梅溪乡双洋保[1][2]；1956年划入内坑区锦和乡；1961年成立磁灶公社前尾大队；1984年设磁灶前尾村委会[2]。
人口民族[edit]
2008年，全村有3108人、859户[2]。村中王、陈、李三姓人口较多[3]。
地理环境[edit]
村里辖前尾、古塘头、山后、树后四个自然村[3]。福厦高速铁路穿过村域，距晋江市动车站约2.2公里[3]。
文化[edit]
前尾自然村的圣灵宫供奉三太子爷，每年农历十一月初七为祭祀香期，香期有小型庙会[3]。
荣誉[edit]
2007年，前尾村被晋江市委、市政府定为「百村示范」的示范村[2]。
