钱坡村位于磁灶镇北部，镇政府北面约3公里，国道324线从村边经过。村里以苏姓为主，是福建苏氏的主要聚居地之一，也是一个侨乡[3]。

历史沿革[edit]

村名几经变化：宋元时村前有一处可以泊船的陂塘，村因之称前陂，此后又谐音写作前坡、前埔。1981年地名普查时，因与安海镇的前埔重名，恢复旧名钱坡[1]。

宋元时，这里属开建乡养能里。明清改乡为里，属第一都。1944年归梅溪乡前坡保，1949年设苏前乡人民政府，1958年村归磁灶公社前埔大队管辖，1984年改设磁灶镇钱坡村委会[2]。

人口民族[edit]

除交边自然村的李、姚、许等姓外，村民多为苏姓。苏氏原居槐市，与钱坡相邻。据村中家乘，槐市苏氏以苏展为一世祖，苏展生于北宋政和元年（1111年）。展传居槐市十世后，至十一世的联生公迁居钱坡，成为钱坡苏氏的开基祖[2]。

地理环境[edit]

福厦高铁隧道从村西的寨山下穿过。村东接泉州出口加工区，南邻下官路村，北面与南安市接界[3]。

文化[edit]

2000年9月，国家文化部命名钱坡村为「中国民间特色艺术之乡（书法艺术）」[3]。
