小布林社区是灵源街道下辖的社区，地处街道南面，地势较高，属丘陵地带，东临永和镇。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传北宋时，泉州城内两位姓傅的贡生怀才不遇，便隐居此地，以耕读自娱。后有王、谢等姓陆续迁入，村名沿用旧称，只将“傅”字改作“布”字，以示区别。[1]

人口[edit]

征地之前，社区土地有110多亩；如今人口1146人，共360户。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元明清时属五都，宋代为开建乡仁孝里辖地，1944年属康乐乡双林保。[1]

2003年11月，小布林村从安海镇析出，划归灵源街道，改设小布林社区居民委员会。[1]
