林格社区是灵源街道下辖的社区，位于街道中部，西临五里工业园区，北面与工业园区相连。[1]

地名由来[edit]

古地名叫麓谷，又称林隔。当年灵石古道穿过茂密的丛林，因“隔”与“格”音近，改称林格。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元代属晋江县五都，明清仍属五都。村中为杨姓单一姓聚居，其后裔分散到香港、澳门、台湾等地。[1]

1944年属康乐乡，1956年属栖梧区紫华乡。2003年自罗山镇划入灵源街道，2004年12月村委会改为居委会。[1][2]

人口[edit]

全社区约有400余户，1600余人，分为9个居民小组。[1]

设施[edit]

社区内有林格小学一所，设菜市场一个，社区文化活动中心内设农家书屋和老人活动中心。[2]
