后林社区位于晋江市罗山街道东部，统辖后林、下宅两个自然村，总面积1.7平方千米。新旧省道306线从社区的前后穿过，社区共有11个居民小组、921户。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

名称的来历可追溯到元朝中后期：当时居所之后有一片森林，常见猴群，故先称猴林；后来雅化为侯林，再因谐音定为后林。[1][2]

明清时期此地隶属二十八都。2003年罗山镇撤销、设立街道之后，它改称后林社区居委会。[2]

经济[edit]

社区的产业以制鞋为主，此外有糖果与副食品等。重要的企业有步贤鞋业、金德利鞋业以及惠康食品。[1]

文化[edit]

社区设有菜市场、小学和灯光球场，社区内的老年协会与计生协会等组织也较为健全。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

后林蔡淑美宅为近现代一般文物点。[3]
