社店社区在晋江市罗山街道的西南端，背靠罗裳山，驻地自然村同名为社店，又称余店或鳌里。社区面积约4平方千米，所辖自然村包括社店、尾厝、田内与后边，全社区人口5542人。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，相传约1050年前，畲族先人在罗裳山东南麓的沃土上开店经营，地名由此称为畲店。此后为书写便利写作余店，方言中又谐作谢店，直到清代中叶才定为社店。[1][3]

此地明清时属十三都，经过多次区划调整，2004年12月转为罗山街道社店社区居委会。[3]

地理环境[edit]

社区面积约4平方千米，青安公路、社马路、世纪大道与高速公路连接线在辖内穿行，交通条件优越。[2]

罗裳山上的舜帝纪念堂，又名五圣会，位于社店地界，由陈、姚、胡、虞、田五姓宗亲为纪念舜帝而建，建设资金来自海内外。[2][5]

经济[edit]

改革开放以后，社区以食品加工与汽车运输为主业，大小企业合计一百多家。据百度百科，社店食品市场建于1998年。[2][3]

文化[edit]

旅居海外的陈荣宗回到家乡，在祠堂中创办社店第一所小学，取名和平小学。他后来在海外意外去世，乡人为纪念他，把学校更名为荣宗小学。[2]

社店陈启烈宅为近现代一般文物点。[4]
