历史沿革[edit]
社区的名称出于1981年的地名普查。原来的大队析出后自成一队，重新命名时，取所属两个自然村前堡与小沿塘各一字，合为前沿。[1][3]
明清两代此地隶属二十八都，民国时期归大同乡罗山保。新中国成立后经历了池店区罗山乡、大队独立、改设村委会、划入罗山镇等阶段，2003年才设为社区居委会。[2][3]
人口民族[edit]
社区全部人口为2338人，共567户，下设18个居民小组。[2][1]
经济[edit]
社区土地已基本征用完毕，经济以贸易为主，企业包括机械配件公司、汽车与摩托车销售公司、建材公司和石雕厂等。[2]
文化[edit]
社区中有陈氏宗祠、许氏宗祠与郑氏宗祠。据百度百科，这三座宗祠都有近五百年的历史。[3]
社区内的晋江市罗山中学，1958年办学，初称农中，1970年定名为罗山中学。[2]
2006年至2008年度，社区连续三年获晋江市计生协会授予「一流村（居）计生协会」称号。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
西天寺据百度百科已有近四百年历史，博雅地名网同样把它记在社区名下。[3][2]
