福埔社区隶属晋江市罗山街道，是街道办事处与晋江市政府的所在地。社区地处罗裳山南麓，泉安公路、泉石通路与世纪大道穿越辖区，素有晋江市交通中心之称。社区下辖13个居民小组。[1][4][5]

历史沿革[edit]

社区原称恤埔。旧时此处坟茔众多、荒草丛生，后来有人在此开垦、清理荒坟，聚落成形，便以寓意吉祥的「福埔」为村名。[1][4]

元代，曾、王、许三姓在此聚居；明朝初年陈氏自南塘花园迁入。王氏在清末外迁，陈氏逐渐成为主要姓氏，其后裔近三千人。[2]

明清两代此地隶属二十八都，民国时期归大同乡福埔保管辖。新中国成立后，隶属关系先后经过池店区、罗山公社、罗山乡和罗山镇的调整；2003年，福埔村委会改设为社区居委会。[2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，全社区人口为3698人，合计968户，分作13个居民小组。[5]

经济[edit]

因土地大多已被征收，社区的经济活动以贸易和房地产为主，行业涵盖机械配件、汽车与摩托车销售、建材、石雕和服装纺织。百度百科指出，第三产业在社区中居于主导。[5][4]

文化[edit]

除曾氏祖厝、许氏宗祠和陈氏宗祠外，社区内还有建成六百余年的隆兴堂。社区中心设有晋江市福埔小学。[5]

2021年6月，社区被命名为「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

林欲厦墓在世纪大道以北约200米处，为明代古墓葬，属市级文物保护单位。[1][3]
