社区因九十九溪支流上的一座石砌小桥得名。古时此桥是附近居民通往大桥和泉州府的唯一通道。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区古称泉州府三十一、二都。2003年11月，它由磁灶镇改属西园街道，成为小桥村委会；2005年设为小桥社区居委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区境内有古石拱桥，桥上建有紫莲寺，即观音寺。[2]

社区内另有相公石、以古墓为山的史国老、现存300多年的古石牌，并有南音清唱组织龙桥阁。一处名为九十九间的古民居群也在社区内。[2]
