梅青社区位于梅岭街道中部，地处晋江市区中心，东侧为泉安中路，西侧靠近世纪大道。社区面积约1.0平方千米，由四个自然村组成。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

旧时青阳一带有青梅山，山南出产青梅，取青梅尚青之意，定名梅青。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

最早的居民为孙姓，此后以庄姓居民为多。宋代属永宁乡永福里，明清时期属晋江县二十七、二十八都。[1][3]

1956年归青阳镇管辖，1980年仍在梅山大队之内；1988年自原村委会析出，另立梅青村委会。[1][3]

2003年11月，梅青自青阳镇划出，并入梅岭街道，设为梅青社区居委会。[1][3]

荣誉[edit]

2021年2月，社区列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单；2021年6月，获评「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」（三星级）；2021年11月，被福建省爱卫办命名为「福建省卫生社区」；2024年12月，上榜「福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[1]
