三光天社区位于梅岭街道西北部，属城乡结合区，辖三光天、锦塘、霞塘三个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

社区以所辖自然村三光天得名。该地四面环山，原称「山中天」，后嫌其意不雅，取日、月、星三光拱照于天之意，改称三光天。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明、清时期属三十都。此后曾归池店区霞岭乡，1961年后隶属青阳公社，1984年改为三光天村委会，隶属青阳镇。[1]

2003年11月，青阳镇撤并，改设街道办事处，三光天村并入梅岭街道，转为三光天社区居委会。[1][3]

侨乡[edit]

侨资是社区经济的主要支柱，侨胞散居菲律宾、新加坡、港澳地区和加拿大，是泉州的侨乡之一。[1]

平山中学的首期工程由庄长泰与庄杰文共同出资，其后庄长泰又陆续投入一千多万元将其建成；平山小学与平山雪娥幼儿园，则由庄杰华出资兴建。[1][2]

自2020年起，本社区已列入晋江市涉侨建筑集群保护的范围。[3]
