普照社区是晋江市青阳街道下辖的社区，位于晋江中心市区，前身为行政村，辖区面积约1.5平方千米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网引《晋南地名探源寺庵考》，北宋天圣年间（1024年）建有燕吟寺，后改名院林寺，香火兴盛，高僧辈出。当时年成太平，村人感念佛祖庇佑，遂取佛光普照之意为村名。[1]

1959年，本村归罗山公社普照大队；1985年改设青阳镇普照村委会；2004年由村改为社区居委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据2021年发布的社区情况简介，普照社区设9个居民小组，户籍人口2700多人，流动人口4000多人，主要姓氏为蔡、李、杨、吴。[2]
