莲屿社区是晋江市青阳街道下辖的社区，位于晋江市中心市区，面积1.5平方公里，下辖西宫、中堡、尾透三个片区，名称取自塘中的一座石山。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，宋代泉州太守王十朋在泉南一带开凿七个塘，以储水灌溉农田。造塘时唯独塘中央的一座石山未被开凿，山上有一棵百年大榕树，白鹭栖息其间，远望宛如一朵莲花，故称莲花屿。[1]

1959年归青阳公社莲屿大队，1980年起属青阳镇莲屿大队，1984年改设莲屿村委会，仍隶属青阳镇。[1]
