历史沿革[edit]
这一带原是丘陵山地。1980年，晋江县政府征用此地，供机关单位的离退休干部与职工建房，以解决他们的住房困难。至1990年，居住区大体建成，村落因建在青阳新建的村子上而取名青阳新村，后简称青新。[1]
1990年12月，社区居民委员会成立，定名为青新社区居委会。[1]
2021年6月，社区被命名为「2020年度晋江市平安村（社区）」，评定为三星级。[1]
