子英村原名岑兜，雅称银江，20世纪60年代改用现名，以纪念烈士李子芳。[1][2]

村中有李子芳烈士故居与岑兜盐场遗址，均为石狮市级文物保护单位。[3]

地名由来[edit]

村名的来历有两说：一说是开村的李振仲广施恩惠，曾得上天赐银，故有此名；另一说是先人曾在此经营银店。[2]

人物[edit]

李子芳1910年5月出生于岑兜的一个华侨家庭，1927年回国参加革命，1934年随中央红军参加长征，后任新四军政治部组织部长。1941年在皖南事变中被俘，1942年遇害，年32岁。[4][1]

名胜古迹[edit]

李子芳烈士故居位于子芳区53-2号，建于清代，属近现代重要史迹及代表性建筑，列为市级文物保护单位。[3]

岑兜盐场遗址位于村中浔美自然村，年代自元至现代，为市级文物保护单位。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

20世纪60年代初，岑兜改为子英大队；1984年改称子英村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年2月，入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]
