金埭村位于永宁镇南隅，东临外高村，南与梅林村、港边村交界，又名“埭头”。[2]

村名源于海边的海埭，村中因侨汇丰厚而有“金埭头”之称，后通称金埭。[3]

地名由来[edit]

村子位于海边的海埭处，故称“埭头”。当地海产丰富，外出谋生者多，侨汇收入可观，村民富庶，于是有“金埭头”的称呼，并通称“金埭”。[3]

地理环境[edit]

深沪湾海水环绕梅林半岛，港道曲折，涨潮时水面浩阔如海。古时商船可驶入永宁南门一带装卸货物，后因淤泥淤积，港道失浚，成为冲积区，俗称海埭。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明末清初，乡民因战乱与苛政纷纷跨海前往南洋谋生，致富后回乡建置厝宅，流传有“过屋无不闻银声”之说。[2]

1956年设金埭高级社，1984年改称金埭村委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村中以李、黄、刘三姓为主。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中建有黄念打烈士纪念公园。黄念打是金埭人，14岁赴菲律宾，抗日战争爆发后参加华侨抗敌救国后援会。1942年1月日军攻入马尼拉后大肆逮捕抗日人士，他被捕，同年4月在华侨义山遇害，年43岁。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年11月，被确定为泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」；2023年2月，入选福建省第三批高级版「绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
