港东村位于锦尚镇南部、石狮市东南隅，是一个滨海乡村。村名来自旧时村子西面的港湾：因年久泥沙冲积，村民在港湾东侧建居，故称港东。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

古时村庄西面临港湾，泥沙逐渐淤积成陆，村民便在港湾东侧定居，称为港东，又别称锦东。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

行政辖区约514亩，其中耕地369亩。村中有290户，常住人口1270人，户籍人口1210人。[1]

村内有企业4家，村民多以经商、务工为生。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，村庄获福建省农业农村厅评为「全省乡村治理示范村」；2023年8月，中共泉州市委将村庄评为「2020-2022年度泉州市文明村」。[1]
