港前村位于石狮市锦尚镇西南部，西邻扶贫路，南与永宁镇山边接壤，处于几处工业园区的腹地。村名据称因明朝末年村民把村落建在古港之前而来。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村中曾挖出古时的木锚，村名的由来与古港有关。村子又名「锦田」「锦钱」。[3]

1985年，村落改称港前村委会；1999年，港前村隶属锦尚镇。[3]

人口与村情[edit]

村中有471户，户籍人口1483人，另有常住人口1586人，村民小组7个，村民代表45人。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村庄获「福建省乡村振兴实绩突出村」「泉州市文明示范村」等称号。[1]
