湖厝村位于石狮市区的东侧，耕地约450亩，山地约150亩。[1]

村民代表25人，全村292户，常住人口987人；村里曾获「泉州市文明社区」「石狮市综治示范城区」等荣誉称号。[1]

地名由来[edit]

据一说，早年村中有大片水面，村民在湖上养鸭，后来沿湖建房，村名便叫“湖鲤”，解放后改称“湖厝”。[2]

另一说法称，磁灶胡氏迁居此地，村名冠以“胡厝”，因“胡”与“湖”同音，又称“湖厝”。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

相传此地建居者为胡氏，约300多年前，晋江陈埭沟西的林氏迁来定居，此后林氏繁衍成村中大姓。[2]

1999年9月划入鸿山镇辖区；经石狮市政府于2000年4月15日批准，设立湖厝村委会。[2]
