邱下村位于鸿山镇西北部，与高新技术开发区的五金印刷园区相邻。[1]

村中有531户，常住人口2005人，此外另有外来人口1200多人，村民多从事建筑、运输和漂染等行业。[1]

地名由来[edit]

据说董氏族人最早在此地居住，村落建于山坡低坳之处，原称“坞下”，又名“坵下”。[2][3]

元末，国源公迁居“坵下”，后以姓氏冠名，取名“邱下”，此外亦作“丘下”，雅称“金丘”。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代隶安仁乡永宁里，明清归二十一都，民国33年（1944年）为复兴乡锦林保。1949年划为晋江县第九区锦林乡，1955年改隶双湖区，1956年归莲塘区，1958年隶属祥芝公社锦林大队。[2]

1987年8月分出，另设邱下村委会。此后1988年归石狮市祥芝乡，1991年改属祥芝镇，1999年划归鸿山镇。[2]

荣誉[edit]

村庄曾获「石狮市先进基层党组织」「村容村貌整治先进村」「泉州市文明村」等称号。[1]
